Sr Manufacturing Engineer
100% onsite in Roswell/Alpharetta
TRC Talent Solutions is in search of a Sr Manufacturing Engineer for one of our clients located in North Atlanta. This role is a critical, high-visibility position at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and test. You will support strategic growth initiatives in close collaboration with Design Engineering, Operations, and other internal teams. As a technical focal point within the organization, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s position within the small turbine engine/aerospace manufacturing market. The environment is fast-paced and evolving, with an expectation for proactive problem solving, development of manufacturing engineering standard work, and mentoring team members to support operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic input for lean manufacturing shop floor layouts optimized for assembly flow, labor efficiency, and throughput
- Own portions of the manufacturing value chain across multiple products
- Develop and qualify detailed assembly work instructions to a consistent standard with continuous improvement initiatives
- Establish and track key production metrics such as takt time, cycle time, yield, and throughput
- Apply process improvement methodologies and tools (e.g., value stream mapping, problem-solving, visual management) to reduce build hours, improve quality, increase production rates, and minimize variability in complex manufacturing processes
- Lead manufacturing design initiatives from concept through execution and validation, including tooling and fixture development to improve accuracy and repeatability
- Support production builds, testing activities, equipment operation, and maintenance directly on the manufacturing floor
- Provide technical expertise and training to Assembly and Test Technicians
- Lead root cause analysis efforts while coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders
- Partner with design engineering teams to evaluate manufacturability and test requirements within a rapidly evolving production environment
- Collaborate with Quality teams on PFMEAs, control plans, inspections, and compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated success in manufacturing/process engineering within high-volume production environments and hands-on hardware experience
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong bias for action and problem solving
- Experience with ERP, PLM, and MES enterprise systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety and quality standards; experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environments
- Collaborative, high-energy team player with a passion for solving complex, high-impact challenges
- Must be eligible to work in environments requiring access to export-controlled systems/tools in compliance with U.S. regulations
